Just wanted to post a quick update on my latest bloods and strategy for the autumn.
The good news is that my TSH, T3 and T4 levels are normal –but my antithyroglobulin, one of the two key antibodies, increases every time I have a blood test. I must note, that it was at 150 about 18 months ago, then dropped to 9 after 8 months and now is at 43 — which is just outside the upper range of the normal scale. My doctor started to talk about starting me on thyroxine again and I want to avoid this. So, the plan until December bloods is:
- Once a month, a Prolon 5 day fast
- Strict adherence to my no dairy, no grains and no sugar diet. In all honestly, I did lots to cheating this year, and think that it has caught up with me. Fred Bisci’s interview was a great reminder that cheating basically makes a diet null and void.
- If I need to have alcohol, to go for a pure potato vodka with lime or club soda.
My hypothesis is that my body will be in healing mode though regular fasting and show less inflammation through my dietary choice. I will report back the December results. Feel free to comment and share your strategies!
